| Writer's Block: Clock Punching |

Why it was none other than being a sales associate at Spirit Halloween. I worked there 2 years in a row, missed last year 'cause I was living here in LV. Now I'm going back this year and I can't wait. It was at the same location 3 years in a row, then they finally did something with that space. They moved Rue 21 there. There's no way we would've been able to fit in the old Rue 21 building, but Danielle tells me that they moved in the TJ Maxx plaza where that Interior place used to be and that is a lot of room.
Actually, now that I think of it, my mom's former boss paid me to scan her photos before I worked at Spirit. So, I guess that would be my first job.
This microwavable angel hair marinara dish is kinda weird.
I hate exclamation marks more and more. |

I recently added 24 songs to my iTunes library and I feel the urge to comment on them.
• Janet Jackson - Black Cat This song is so cheesy and awesome at the same time.
• Sixpence None The Richer - Kiss Me Yes, I had a very unexpected urge to download this song. Can't explain it. Just wanting to relive the 90's some more, I guess.
• The Ramones - Let's Dance I only had this song on vinyl and I had the mp3 of the Chris Montez version so it's nice to have this in digital format. It's boisterous and aggressive and sweet and cute all at the same time
• AC/DC - Big Balls How is it that I've gone thus far in my life without hearing this song? It's so badass and the lyrics are hilarious. And when the backing vocals all chime in with, "We've got the biggest balls of them all!" it makes me think of Rocky Horror for some reason.
• AC/DC - High Voltage That catchy lead riff was all I needed. This is feel-good music.
• Billie Myers - Kiss the Rain I happened to spot this song in the same torrent I got "Kiss Me" from (Dawson's Creek soundtrack, ha ha!) and I had completely forgotten about this song. I remember loving it when I was little, but tastes change. I like it now, the music is kinda blah, but I really love her voice. It's vaguely like Tracy Chapman's.
• Alice In Chains - Swing On This I finally got around to getting this in digital format. I used to only have the AIC EPs on vinyl.
• Foreigner - Urgent Silly song. Foreigner's kind of a silly band. I'm quite fond of silliness.
• Alice In Chains - Am I Inside Oh Layne, croon me to sleep. :)
• Alice Cooper - Catch Me If You Can Which leg would you rather lose to an arachnophobic psychopath?
• AC/DC - Girl's Got Rhythm Another catchy riff. Thanks Angus ;)
• AC/DC - Highway to Hell So, I bought my AC/DC ticket, then I bought my Motörhead ticket then I turned on my car radio and this was the song that was playing. Some things were just meant to be.
• AC/DC - If You Want Blood (You've Got It) This song always makes me think of Empire Records.
• Alice In Chains - Love Song This odd compilation has a piano part that makes me think of that "You're as cold as ice" song, "Killer Queen" and Toto's "Love Isn't Always On Time". There's plenty of manic shouting and fart/burp noises and a nice ghosty 'ooooh'
• Alice In Chains - Right Turn Another melancholy acoustic guitar song with lead vocals performed by Jerry Cantrell, Chris Cornell and Layne Staley.
• KISS - Rock Bottom I heard this on last week's Nights With Alice Cooper "Same Name" segment where Alice mentioned that the producers of A&E's Gene Simmons Family Jewels were considering this song for the theme song, then decided that it would be to obvious. I get a little impatient with the long acoustic intro to this song, but when it starts rockin', it rocks.
• UFO - Rock Bottom This was the other song from the "Same Name" segment and Alice said something like, "The KISS song came out a year after the UFO song, but KISS still probably sued them for as much money as they could and invested all that money into Spencer's where you still can't walk into that place without tripping over a KISS ashtray." tee hee :D
• AC/DC - Shake Your Foundations It just rocks. Can't explain. Maybe it's the "aheeyaeeyah!"
• Alice In Chains - Whale & Wasp That's exactly what it sounds like. Instrumental loveliness.
• AC/DC - Whole Lotta Rosie Last night on Nights With Alice Cooper, Alice talked about how this song is about an overweight girl that Bon Scott once dated. In the beginning Bon mention's "she ain't exactly pretty, ain't exactly small" and then he throws out "42, 39, 56" and the song rocks away.
• AC/DC - Hells Bells There's something about the sound of church bells that makes me hear Vyvyan from The Young Ones yelling in the distance, "SHUT UP, YOU BASTARDS!!!"
• Sonic Youth - Moist Vagina, Hallowed Be My Name and I Don't Wanna Walk Around With You The Ramones song sounded like a live track, so you can't expect the cover to be too different from the original, and I couldn't tell whether the Alice Cooper one was or not, but it wasn't different from the original either. I was very disappointed in the Nirvana one though. There was just no display of creativity whatsoever. The beginning seemed promising, but it just followed the original in a very copycat manner. If you're gonna do a cover, do something with it. I have never heard any music by Sonic Youth except covers. I hope they're not that crappy.
